Warranty Information
Warranty Information
Effective Date: June 30, 2026
At Our Tool Crib, we sell professional-grade tools from more than 100
manufacturers and brands. Because we are a reseller — not a
manufacturer — the tools we sell are covered by their respective
manufacturers’ warranties, not by a separate warranty issued
by Our Tool Crib. This page explains how those warranties work, what we can
do to help you, and what to do if something goes wrong with your purchase.
Please read this page together with our
Returns & Refund Policy and our
Terms of Service, both of which contain additional
terms that apply to your purchase.
1. Manufacturer Warranties
Every tool sold on OurToolCrib.com is covered by the warranty provided by
its manufacturer. The manufacturer — not Our Tool Crib — is the
warrantor for purposes of product defects and workmanship
claims.
-
Warranty terms vary by brand. Coverage periods, what is
covered, and how claims are processed differ from manufacturer to
manufacturer. Some brands offer limited lifetime warranties; others offer
coverage measured in months or years. We do not publish warranty periods
for individual brands because these terms change and are controlled
entirely by each manufacturer. -
Where to find your warranty terms. Warranty documentation
is typically included in the product packaging, printed on the product
registration card, or available on the manufacturer’s website. We encourage
you to locate and read the warranty documentation for your specific product
and brand before or shortly after purchase. -
Product registration. Many manufacturers require or
strongly recommend that you register your product to activate or maximize
warranty coverage. Registration requirements are set by the manufacturer.
Our Tool Crib cannot register products on your behalf.
2. Our Role as Your Retailer
Our Tool Crib is an authorized reseller of the brands it carries. We are
not the manufacturer of the products we sell, and we do not
independently warrant the tools against manufacturing defects beyond what is
described in Section 3 below (Defective or Damaged on Arrival) and
offer no additional guarantee of our own.
What we can do to help:
-
Help you identify the correct manufacturer warranty contact or authorized
service center for your brand. -
Provide documentation of your purchase (order confirmation, invoice) that
you may need to submit a warranty claim to the manufacturer. -
Facilitate communication with the manufacturer or its authorized
representative where reasonably practicable, though we cannot control
manufacturer response times or claim outcomes. -
Process Defective-on-Arrival or shipping damage claims within the timeframes
described in Section 3.
What we cannot do: We cannot override, modify, extend, or
waive a manufacturer’s warranty on your behalf. We cannot guarantee that a
manufacturer will honor a warranty claim, and we have no authority to make
warranty decisions on a manufacturer’s behalf. Disputes regarding manufacturer
warranty coverage must ultimately be resolved between you and the manufacturer.
3. Defective or Damaged on Arrival (DOA)
3a. Defective on Arrival (DOA)
If your tool arrives in a defective or non-functional condition — meaning it
does not work as intended straight out of the box — please contact us
within 30 days of the delivery date so we can help resolve
the issue under our
Returns & Refund Policy.
To report a DOA product, please contact us at
support@ourtoolcrib.com
(Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Central Time) and provide:
- Your order number
- The product name, brand, and model number
-
A description of the defect or malfunction (what the product does or
does not do) -
Photographs or video clearly showing the defect or non-functional
condition - Your Our Tool Crib order number or order confirmation email as proof of purchase
- The original packaging and all included accessories, retained and returned with the item for a DOA exchange
DOA claims reported after 30 days of the delivery date
fall outside our return window and should be directed to the manufacturer
under the applicable manufacturer warranty.
3b. Shipping Damage
If your order arrives with visible damage to the outer packaging or if the
product itself appears damaged in transit, please:
-
Document the damage immediately. Take clear photographs
of the outer packaging and the product before or during unpacking. -
Report within 30 days of delivery. Contact us at
support@ourtoolcrib.com with
your order number, photographs of the damaged packaging and product, and
a description of the damage. -
Retain all original packaging. Do not discard the outer
box, inner packaging materials, or any inserts. Carriers and insurers may
require inspection of the original shipping materials.
Shipping damage claims reported outside the 30-day window may be subject
to limitations and may need to be addressed through the carrier’s claims
process.
4. How to Make a Warranty Claim
Step 1 — Start With Us (For Guidance and Documentation)
If your tool develops a defect or malfunction after the 30-day return window
and you believe it may be covered by the manufacturer warranty, we recommend
contacting us first. We can help you:
- Obtain a copy of your proof of purchase (order confirmation/invoice).
- Identify the manufacturer’s warranty service contact or authorized
repair center. - Understand what information the manufacturer typically requires.

Monday–Friday | 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Central Time
Or visit our Contact Us page.
Step 2 — Submit Your Claim to the Manufacturer
Most manufacturer warranty claims are handled directly by the manufacturer
or its authorized service network. When contacting the manufacturer, you
will typically need to provide the following information:
-
Proof of purchase — your order number and/or invoice from
Our Tool Crib showing the purchase date and product description. -
Product details — brand, product name, model number, and
serial number (if applicable). -
Description of the problem — a clear explanation of the
defect or malfunction, including when it first appeared and under what
conditions. -
Photographs or documentation — images of the defect or
failure, if requested by the manufacturer. -
Registration confirmation — if you registered the product,
include your registration number or confirmation.
Because each manufacturer operates its own warranty program, response times,
claim procedures, and remedies (repair, replacement, or refund) are determined
solely by the manufacturer and are outside Our Tool Crib’s control.
5. What Is Typically Not Covered
Manufacturer warranties generally do not cover the
following. These are general examples only. The actual exclusions
for your product are governed exclusively by the manufacturer’s warranty
documentation for your specific brand and model.
-
Normal wear and tear — deterioration resulting from
ordinary use over time, including worn blades, worn brushes, faded
finishes, and similar conditions expected with regular use. -
Consumable parts — items designed to be used up or
replaced periodically, such as saw blades, drill bits, sanding pads,
filters, batteries (in some cases), belts, and brushes. -
Damage from misuse or abuse — damage caused by using
the tool for purposes outside its intended use, overloading, or operating
it in a manner inconsistent with the manufacturer’s instructions. -
Damage from accidents, drops, or environmental conditions
— physical damage from dropping, impact, flooding, fire, or exposure to
conditions beyond the product’s rated specifications. -
Unauthorized repairs or modifications — any tool that
has been repaired, modified, or altered by anyone other than an authorized
service center, including improper reassembly or use of non-OEM parts. -
Failure to follow manufacturer instructions — damage
arising from failure to follow the safety, maintenance, or operating
instructions in the product manual. -
Commercial use (where excluded) — some manufacturer
warranties are limited to consumer use only and do not cover tools
subjected to commercial or rental use. Check your manufacturer’s warranty
terms. -
Cosmetic damage not affecting function — scratches,
dents, or surface marks that do not impair the tool’s performance.
This list is illustrative, not exhaustive. The definitive
list of exclusions applicable to your product is found in the
manufacturer’s warranty documentation.
